Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is when distance images become blurry. The earlier a child developed myopia, the higher their risk for serious eye conditions such as maculopathies and retinal detachments. Early intervention is key when it comes to myopia control.

Our doctors specialize in numerous therapeutic techniques that can slow down your child’s myopia progression. These techniques include contact lens wear, orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses, and specialty glasses.

Treating Myopia early is key to preventing progression and saving our patient’s vision. However over night contact lenses are not just for preventing the progression of myopia. They are perfect for anyone who wants to be free from glasses and day time contact lenses. This includes athletes, patients with active life styles and those weekend warriors who love to travel without the worry of glasses or day time contacts. 

Our doctors offer complete professional contact lens care. This includes the initial evaluation as well as follow-up visits. A complete range of contact lenses is offered, including the fitting of hard, gas permeable, soft, bifocal, astigmatic, extended wear, disposable and colored lenses. The latest state of the art corneal topographer is utilized to thoroughly evaluate your corneal health as well as tear film stability.

After receiving training from our professional staff and a little practice, you will be wearing and handling your lenses with confidence – even if you have been unsuccessful in the past.

At PAJE Optometric, we also use the latest technology to assess contact lens associated dry eye.  With the use of the AcuTarget HD Analyzer, our trained doctors can assess to what degree dry eye is effecting your contact lens success. 

A thorough health evaluation will be taken and testing will be done to evaluate both the internal and external health of your eyes. This includes testing for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetes, hypertension and other eye diseases. How clearly your eyes see, the focusing ability, the eye teaming and the coordination skills will be evaluated at distance and near with particular regard to your specific visual demands.

Once the examination has been completed,  our doctors will carefully explain the findings and discuss any recommendations for “preventive or remedial” care. Our goal is to find the “cause” of your visual discomfort or stress and alter its effects on your visual system. Our philosophy is to improve your vision as much as possible, rather than just “increase your prescription”.

If you have been diagnosed with Glaucoma, or if you have a family history of Glaucoma, our doctors offer complete examinations and care for your custom needs. This includes specialized testing and scans to diagnose, monitor and track this condition.  Our team also has the certification to manage any changes that may warrant therapeutic intervention or a surgical referral when necessary. 

If you have been diagnosed with Keratoconus, our doctors offer complete care for your special needs. This includes specialized contact lenses such as RGP contact lenses and scleral contact lenses. This custom options can allow patients with keratoconus to achieve their best vision possible. In addition to lenses, our doctors offer options to maintain the structure and strength of your cornea as well as proper management of changes that may warrant surgical intervention in the form of Corneal Cross-linking. Our doctors work daily with NVISION to co-manage Corneal Cross-linking patients.

Dr. Fimreite is experienced in meeting the unique vision needs of the elderly: specifically those patients who are bedridden, in a convalescent home, or institutional setting. 

Dr. Fimreite offers “in home” vision services for those that cannot possibly be seen in our office. A thorough vision examination is performed including all internal and external ocular health checks. This population tends to be at risk of more serious ocular health complications secondary to their physical ailments. Dr. Fimreite brings with him all state of the art equipment (mobile) to carefully evaluate for Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Hypertensive Retinopathy as well as side effects that may be caused by long term medication use.

Dr. Fimreite also offers prescription corrective lenses when required. He has a large selection of fashion frames to choose from. Medicare assignment for covered services is accepted.

At PAJE Optometric, we have a specialized technology, known as the HD Analyzer, that assesses the quality of your tear film and allows our doctors to determine if poor tear film stability is effecting your vision, and may be why contact lenses become uncomfortable or intolerable

The basic school screening (“eye chart”) commonly done in most schools measures only one small part of a child’s total visual performance. Children’s examinations are specifically designed to evaluate the skills necessary for a child to meet the ever-changing demands of the classroom.

Glasses alone may not provide the optimum visual performance necessary for a child. If this is the case, vision therapy is often the best choice to alleviate the visual problem.
